Looking Back

Lilah had a good time at day care yesterday and she likes playing with the other kids there (she likes being the only infant too). After that, we went home and had fun playing with mommy until daddy came home and then she played with both. Then we visited Grandma and Granddad and had fun playing with them. It was after we got home when Lilah was sleeping that David and I were discussing Lilah earlier in life. We talked about mistakes we made, how we could fix them, and what we would change with the next one. This made me think of a quote:
“Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it’s a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.” - Al Franken
I also found a couple of articles on first-borns I thought were interesting.
One of my coworkers who comes to my desk randomly and gives advice told me new mothers are more protective of their first-borns and later ease up the reins as more come in to the picture.  Yesterday, she told me I should spend an hour a day doing what Lilah is doing.
